Hello, I'm Debbie and a warm welcome to
North Star Psychotherapy.
I came to counselling later in life, having built on my own personal life experiences, knowledge and skills through raising my family, and in a career in Education. I developed an interest in counselling, and decided to train as a therapist following a major re-evaluation of my own life, having sought counselling myself, to help me to unravel some difficulties that I had been experiencing.
I want to pursue my deep interest in talking therapy and my wholehearted belief in the benefits that a one-to-one therapeutic relationship can provide a restorative emotional experience. It is my aim to draw on all of my knowledge to create a unique therapeutic relationship with each person.
Having benefitted from my own personal therapy, allows me to understand exactly how it is, to sit in my clients shoes. My clients describe me as warm and approachable, swiftly able to tune into their needs, and reassuring that the process of reaching out for help need not be fearful, but both illuminating and supportive.
Sessions are held in a professionally-dedicated building adjacent to my home in a small and tranquil rural village in the Tyne valley.
